Living things move primarily due to biological processes, such as muscle contractions driven by energy from metabolic reactions. Nonliving things move through external forces, like gravity, friction, or applied energy, such as wind or mechanical power. Both types of movement can be influenced by environmental factors, but living organisms typically exhibit movement in response to stimuli, while nonliving entities move according to physical laws.
Plants are living organisms that obtain energy through photosynthesis. Nonliving objects, such as artificial plants or plastic flowers, may resemble real plants in appearance but do not possess the characteristics of living organisms.
Living things that support life on Earth include trees, which provide oxygen through photosynthesis, and bees, which help pollinate plants for reproduction. Nonliving things that support life on Earth include water, which is essential for all living organisms, and sunlight, which provides energy for photosynthesis and sustains life in many ecosystems.
Mass extinction: many types of living things becoming extinct at the same time.
Nope. Energy, in the form of various types of radiation is a thing but it is non-chemical. Hope, trust, faith, peace, love, insight, etc. are all things and are non-chemical. A vacuum and space are things and are the absence of chemicals. God is, presumably, non-chemical.
Environment
there are two types of natural resoures they are living or biotic and non living or abiotic
Nonliving things are those which do not display life, such as rocks, water, glass.(The term organic is used to mean items or substances created by life, even if the material is no longer part of a living thing, e.g. oil, wood, coral, seashells.)The 5 characteristics of living things:1. Living things are made up of one or more cell2. Living things obtain and use energy3. Living things grow and develop4. Living things reproduce5. Living things respond and adapt to their environment (Homoeostasis)Biologists have classified viruses as "living" because they are made of the same types of proteins as other life. But they display very different life cycles.

It is somewhat doubtful whether viruses and prions can be considered living things. They have some characteristics of living things, but lack others.A fire can reproduce. Several types of computer programs, and especially malicious programs, can reproduce. I believe some of the figures in Conway's Game of Life can reproduce.
The only common component between ALL living things and ALL nonliving things is atoms. An element is made up of one type of atom, and a living organism is made up of many, many different types of atoms.
yes the is
