The disadvantages: domestic oil, if located, would not be ready to use for about ten years; oil consumption needs to be minimized, not expanded--Californians didn't take alternatives to the automobile seriously until the price of gas sky- rocketed, and that's a good thing because driving needs to be reduced; drilling locations so far include offshore in the Gulf, California and presumably any coastal area in the U.S. where oil is surmised to be, the Arctic Wilderness--and there are major obstacles with poor solutions. The advantages are the potential future ability of the U.S to supply its own oil if it reduces consumption to a sustainable level and the fact that the extraction of oil adds hundreds of thousands of dollars to state economies.
YES, In a 2006 US Geological Survey, the estimated oil and gas reserves under just the United States side of the great lakes stands at 312 million barrels of recoverable oil, and 5.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. These estimates are for the US side only and I do not have any estimates for the Canadian side of the lakes. It should also be noted that Lake Michigan is the only great lake that is entirely within the United States.
Advantages: Increased protection against solar radiation for satellites and astronauts. Potential for studying the impact of radiation on technology and human health. Disadvantages: Risk of interference with communication and navigation systems. Increased space debris from the collision, posing a hazard to other satellites and spacecraft.
In the US, 1 barrel of oil = 42 US gallons (159 liters or 34.97 imperial gallons).
There are 42 US gallons of crude oil in one barrel.
Electrical power advantages include: 1. clean. 2. cheap 3. easily be switched on and off 4. Easy to transport via power lines 5. Easy to convert 6. Can be produced using many methods Disadvantages: 1. often made through dirty methods 2. Can be unsafe if not handled correctly 3. Humans can become dependent on the regular flow of energy
We are drilling for oil in the united states
The US Department of the Interior regulates oil drilling on federal lands.
Pennsylvania.
Yes..... indeed
The state of Pennsylvania
It costs less money. Using foreign oil costs a lot, considering everything that involves getting it here, but if we drill more over here, it will cost less, and that means more money at the pump.
The advantages of technology transfer is that China can mass produce United States nuclear apparatus and sell it back for cheaper prices. The main disadvantage is there are compromises to US security.
Yes, the US does drill for oil. The country has extensive oil drilling operations both onshore and offshore, resulting in significant domestic oil production.
gulf of Mexico
they can help you with works and it much more easy to us
Not drilling for more really. USA has more oil than Saudi Arabia.
In the United States, oil drilling evolved as a result of seeking salt brine. Without refrigeration, one of the few means of preserving meat was through packing it with salt.
