A flood can be caused by many events such as intense rainfall. Intense rainfall can also cause the overflow of lakes and rivers. If a large mass of snow melts all at once it can also cause a flood.
Floods usually result from excessive rainfall or from rough waves along coastal lowlands, and is either clogged or baked up. Floods are also caused by erosion.
Though floods can be caused by heavy rains, ice melting, snow, air pressure and wind blows.

Though the three main things that cause floods are high tides, low air pressure and wind blow,
Hurricanes, rise in sea levels, blocked underground surfaces on a rainy day, tsunami (tidal wave/rogue wave).
