Antarctica and Australia lie entirely in the southern hemisphere
Countries that do not have the equator running through them include Canada, the United States, Russia, and India. These countries are located either in the Northern Hemisphere or the Southern Hemisphere, far from the equatorial region. The equator primarily passes through countries in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia.
The three continents that stretch both north and south of the equator are Africa, Asia, and America. Africa straddles the equator with the majority of its landmass located in the northern hemisphere. Asia extends from the northern hemisphere to the equator and into the southern hemisphere. America has regions in both the northern and southern hemispheres, with countries like Brazil and Colombia located south of the equator.
The continents solely located in the Northern Hemisphere are North America and Europe. While parts of Asia and Africa extend into the Southern Hemisphere, North America and Europe are completely situated above the equator. Additionally, the majority of Greenland, an autonomous territory within North America, is also entirely in the Northern Hemisphere.
There are a few continents that are in both the north and the Southern Hemisphere and they are South America, Asia and Africa.
Indonesia and East Timor are the only two countries in Asia that have territory located in the southern hemisphere.
Much of Indonesia is in the southern hemisphere. Since East Timor became independent, and since it can be considered part of Asia (being that Indonesia is), it is also in the southern hemisphere (all of it). Part of the Maldives, which is off the coast of India in the Indian Ocean, is below the equator as well. That's all there is.
The northern hemisphere. It uses up most of the U.S. and Asia. It also contains every single part of Europe. The southern hemisphere only includes Australia and most of South America and Africa.
Australia and Indonesia are the only two countries in Asia with territories in the southern hemisphere. Australia's external territories of Christmas Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and Norfolk Island lie south of the equator, while Indonesia's province of West Papua extends into the southern hemisphere.
Africa: Africa straddles the equator, dividing the continent into northern and southern hemispheres. Asia: Asia spans both northern and southern hemispheres, with countries like Indonesia and Russia located in both. Europe: Europe also crosses the equator, placing countries like Spain and Italy in the southern hemisphere and countries like Norway and Sweden in the northern hemisphere.
Asia is located mostly in the northern hemisphere, with some parts crossing into the southern hemisphere around the equator. The bulk of Asia's landmass and population is in the northern hemisphere.
In the northern hemisphere there are North America, Europe, and Asia. In the Southern Hemisphere there are Australia, and Antarctica. Africa and South America have the equator passing through them.
Antarctica and Australia lie entirely in the southern hemisphere
Asia is entirely in the Eastern Hemisphere and spans the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Asia is in two hemispheres. The vast majority of the continent is in the Northern hemisphere, but a small portion of it is in the Southern hemisphere.
Asia is mostly in the northern hemisphere. A small portion of Asia is in the southern hemisphere, so you could say it is both.
The continents of Australia and Antarctica are entirely in the southern hemisphere. Most of South America and about half of Africa is in the southern hemisphere as well. Additionally, parts of Indonesia are in the southern hemisphere, meaning that, technically, Asia is partly in the southern hemisphere too. However, the percentage of Asia that's in the southern hemisphere is small (roughly 3%) compared to the percentage of Asia that's in the northern hemisphere.
North America and Europe are the only two continents not in the Southern Hemisphere. Asia is only slightly in the Southern Hemisphere.
