Generally a four year degree that leads to a bachelor's of science in meteorology. Some colleges achieve this through a geography degree with a specialization in meteorology, others have programs that start out mostly the same as a physics major...whereas others have meteorology specific degree programs that are entirely separate. Generally speaking, you have to take a lot of math, physics, science and (if you want to be on t.v.) broadcasting classes.
