it's called decomposing (I think) because it breaks down from other organisms (hope this helps!)
Adaptation is important for organisms to survive in an environment for various reasons. The environment posses different threats to different organisms and having these special features is what makes it possible to survive.
Whelks are found commonly on Mudflat, and sandy beaches estuary where they feed on Cockles as their main food source thus Whelks move by their muscular foot which is similar to the cocokls adaptation which allows them to feed on other organisms and stay away from predators.

One way unicellular organisms protect themselves from extinction is through binary fission, a process where they divide into two identical daughter cells. This allows them to quickly reproduce and increase their numbers.
totipotency of cells
Organisms produce different types of proteins for specific features because of variations in their genetic makeup. Some organisms may have a single gene that codes for a specific protein, while others may have multiple genes that code for different variations of the same protein. This genetic diversity allows for different levels of complexity and specialization in organisms.
