No one outside of academia or private-sector research chemistry uses moles in his/her everyday life.

Say you were a chemical worker. Your job is to make paint. You're going to deal in kilograms and liters, or pounds and gallons, rather than moles. A chemist who is researching a brand-new ingredient for paint might use moles, but most of the workers in the plant would not.
