I am living because the oxygen has not worn down my body, I have not been in a car accident, I am perfectly healthy and young, and I intend on living for some time.

I am alive because all living creatures share the same three innate forces: to support my life (eat, seek shelter, etc.), to defend my life (overcome injury, protect against danger), and to reproduce my life (have offspring). I have apparently succeeded so far. There have been times that those forces were the only thing keeping me going. Can't fight those forces.
