It can tell us how old they are and how and where they moved in the past .
Songs can tell us all sorts of things about the past. They can tell us all kinds of important information about history and special events.
Well for one, It can tell us that the land was once covered in water.
Mainly that galaxies that are very far away (i.e., from the distant past) look different to galaxies that are near-by (from the more recent past).
Sedimentary rock structures, such as bedding planes, cross bedding, and ripple marks, are formed by the deposition and subsequent lithification of sediments. These structures provide clues about the environment in which the sediments were deposited, such as if they were laid down by water, wind, or ice. By studying these structures, geologists can reconstruct past geologic processes and environments.
Well, isn't that just a happy little question! Structures that share a common evolutionary origin are called homologous structures. They may look different or have different functions now, but deep down, they come from the same place in nature. Just like how every tree in the forest has its own unique story, these structures remind us of the beautiful connections in the world around us.
They don't, Homologous structures, such as the bones in your forearms and the bones in your cat's and dog's forelegs are that similar because you and your pets are mammals and closely related on the evolutionary tree. Before modern genetic showed this to be convincing the study of morphology was showing us pretty much the same thing; homologous structures support evolution.

That the organisms with homologous structures are of, at least, common ancestry and at most closely related. A backbone is a homologous structure that land and sea dwelling vertebrates possess in common because all can trace the backbone back to a common ancestor in the Precambrian. Now, a dogs front leg and your arm have the same bones, point for point, just differing growth patterns. This shows that you and your dog are closely related as both of you are advanced mammals.
What happened.
it's layers of rock tell us about the past
Well for one, It can tell us that the land was once covered in water.
what....they are supposed to give us the answer not tell us to answer it..i do not get it
it tells us about what people do in the past with no knowledge
To my knowledge, fossils found here on earth tell us absolutely nothing about movements of the other planets in the past. There is no way that they could.
