Hydrogen (H)
Or perhaps you are looking at a Proton which has a charge of 1. Protons are found in an atom along with neutrons which have a neutral charge.
Protons weigh 1 AMU
ithink its a postive charge.
Alpha radiation usually carries a positive charge because it consists of helium nuclei which are composed of two protons and two neutrons.
A net postive charge
An ion is a particle that carries a charge, either positive or negative, due to losing or gaining electrons. It can be a single atom or a group of atoms that have an overall charge. A molecule is a group of atoms held together by chemical bonds and may or may not carry a charge.
The total charge of 14 electrons is -14 units (each electron carries a charge of -1). The total charge of 6 protons is +6 units (each proton carries a charge of +1). To find the total charge of the system, simply add the charges together: +6 units - 14 units = -8 units.

An ion.
Alpha radiation usually carries a positive charge because it consists of helium nuclei which are composed of two protons and two neutrons.
Ethanoate (Acetate) has a single negative charge, CH3COO-
I think you're confused. A neutron has no charge. An atom, however, is made up of negatively charged Electrons, Positively charged Protons, and No-charge Neutrons.
ion
The hydroxide ion (OH-) has a charge of -1. It consists of one oxygen atom and one hydrogen atom bonded together with a single covalent bond. The oxygen atom carries a partial negative charge, while the hydrogen atom carries a partial positive charge.
A net postive charge
An ion is a particle that carries a charge, either positive or negative, due to losing or gaining electrons. It can be a single atom or a group of atoms that have an overall charge. A molecule is a group of atoms held together by chemical bonds and may or may not carry a charge.
A neutral hydrogen atom consists of a single proton in its nucleus and a single electron orbiting the nucleus. The proton carries a positive charge, while the electron carries a negative charge. The overall charge of the neutral hydrogen atom is zero due to the equal and opposite charges of the proton and electron.
The total charge of 14 electrons is -14 units (each electron carries a charge of -1). The total charge of 6 protons is +6 units (each proton carries a charge of +1). To find the total charge of the system, simply add the charges together: +6 units - 14 units = -8 units.
