overfishing, and fishes getting traped in abandoned nets

What are the disruption causes of ecosystem?

Disruption of ecosystems can be caused by human activities such as deforestation, pollution, overfishing, and urban development. Climate change is also a major disruptor, leading to shifts in temperature, precipitation patterns, and sea level rise that can negatively impact ecosystems. Invasive species introduced by human activities can outcompete native species and disrupt ecosystem balance.

Why is the seas in danger?

The seas are in danger due to various human activities such as overfishing, pollution, climate change, and habitat destruction. These activities are causing harm to marine life, ecosystems, and water quality, jeopardizing the overall health of the oceans. Conservation efforts are needed to address these threats and protect the seas for future generations.

What are the causes of Philippine wildlife extinction?

The causes of wildlife extinction in the Philippines include habitat destruction due to deforestation and land conversion, illegal wildlife trade, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. Overhunting and overfishing also contribute to the decline in wildlife populations. Stronger conservation efforts and sustainable practices are needed to protect the unique biodiversity of the Philippines.

Why might an overfishing of herring lead to an increase in populations of sea urchins?

An overfishing of herring can disrupt the food chain and remove a key predator of sea urchins. With fewer herring to feed on sea urchins, their populations can increase unchecked leading to ecosystem imbalance and potentially to overgrazing on kelp forests where sea urchins feed.

Overfishing by humans.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of overfishing?

Overfishing can be used to control fish populations and can be helpful in encouraging natural selection. Overfishing can also be very harmful as it causes fish populations to decrease, affecting all animals that rely on them for food. Overfishing has led many governments to reduce the required size of fish to one that is smaller than when the fish reproduce.

What is three causes for reduction in fishes?

Three primary causes for the reduction in fish populations include overfishing, habitat degradation, and pollution. Overfishing depletes fish stocks faster than they can reproduce, leading to population declines. Habitat degradation, such as the destruction of coral reefs and mangroves, disrupts breeding and feeding grounds. Pollution from agricultural runoff and plastic waste further harms aquatic ecosystems, affecting fish health and survival.

What can you do to reduce overfishing?
