It is heterotrophs.
Algae are protists because they have some of the same organelles. They also are actually called plant like protists. They are still in the protists kingdom though. Protists are microscopic. But, algae is not microscopic. It is confusing but algae is in the Protists Kingdom. Algae also has call walls.
You would most likely find fungus-like protists in damp environments such as soil, decaying matter, and on the surfaces of plants. These protists thrive in moist conditions where they can obtain nutrients and reproduce.
A classification of metamorphic rocks would include whether they are foliated or non-foliated. Foliated metamorphic rocks, such as schist and gneiss, exhibit a layered or banded appearance due to the alignment of mineral grains under pressure. Non-foliated metamorphic rocks, like marble and quartzite, do not display such layering and are typically composed of a single dominant mineral. Other factors for classification can include the parent rock material and the conditions of temperature and pressure during metamorphism.
Protists are extremely important in ecological and medical research. In medicine, certain protists are used to study the relationship between chromosomal structure and aging. Muticellular protists such as slime molds provide valuable insight about the chemical signals used in more complex organisms to coordinate cellular activity.
The most "primitive" protist in the Kingdom Protista would be the more ancestral protists. One major group of protists called the Excavates (which include the Diplomonads and the Parabasalids) are considered by some scientists as the most "primitive" because it lacks a mitochondria while other protists have mitochondria.
pyrrophyta ------------- Pyrrohphyta are a type of dinoflagellate which are a type of flagellated protists and sub-classification of protists. Animal-like protists would be known as eukaryotic organisms. Examples of some of the animal-like protists would be paramecium, amoeba, euglena, vorticella and most of what are historically known as protozoans.

No a paramecia can not live on it's own because it is a singled celled organism and would not have another paramecia to mate with.
