The electron is much smaller than the atom it orbits. The photon, with a wavelength shorter than X-Rays, are also smaller than atomic radii. In general, this scale is the realm of particle physics, classified as quarks, leptons and bosons. Quarks are what make up the center of atoms, like constituents of protons and neutrons. Leptons are much less massive particles which are exemplified by electrons and neutrinos. Bosons are particles which give rise to force from fields. Examples of bosons are photons (which are particles of light) and gluons (which keep quarks together in the nucleus). The Universe was never smaller than an atom.
A proton is smaller than a molecule, which is a group of atoms bonded together. The nucleus is smaller than both a molecule and an atom, as it is the central part of an atom where most of its mass is concentrated.
Smaller
An atom is smaller than a cell, and a molecule is smaller than both atoms and cells. Cells are composed of molecules, which in turn are made up of atoms.
An atom comprises an atomic nucleus with orbiting electrons. So the nucleus is smaller than an atom. To phrase it the opposite way, an atom is alwys larger than the nucleus (of the same atom of course!!)
The Universe was never smaller than an atom.
it can get smaller than an atom
An atom is smaller than a compound because if an electron fits in an atom, and an atom is a part of a compound, it means a compound is bigger than an atom

Neutrons, protons, and electrons make up an atom, so they are smaller.
The atom of an element is smaller than a molecule.
A quark is a fundamental subatomic particle, or class of subatomic particles. It is smaller than an atom.
Of course it is smaller. It is a sub atomic particle
