To find the polarity of a magnet, use a compass.
Set your magnet on a flat surface (ensuring there are no metals or magnetized objects in the area), then put your compass next to one of the sides of your magnet. The south end of your compass needle will point to the north side of your magnet; the north end of the compass needle will point to the south.
we can find the poles of a ring magnet by tieing thread along the circumference of it and suspend it with a torsionless string then it will allign itself according to earth magnetic field
A compass.
You can find the North Pole of a magnet by using a compass. The end of the magnet that points to the north on the compass is the magnet's North Pole. Alternatively, you can use another magnet to determine the poles - opposite poles will attract each other (North attracts South) while like poles will repel each other (North repels North).
You could do this using a magnet, Iron filings are attracted to a magnet, aluminium filings are not.Hint: magnetism, investigate the relative magnetic properties of the metals.Iron is a ferrous material, and aluminum is non-ferrous. A magnet would separate the two materials as the iron would be attracted to the magnet while the aluminum filings would not. The term ferrous basically refers to any material which contains iron.
To find a needle in a haystack, you can use a magnet to attract the metal needle if it's made of steel. Another way is to slowly sift through the haystack carefully, separating the hay to visually identify the needle. Using a metal detector could also help locate the needle among the hay.
The polarity of both ends of a magnet is different. The positive and negative polarity exist for a magnet.
Use a compass. It will always point to a magnet's south pole.
To determine the polarity of a magnet, you can use a compass. The end of the magnet that attracts the north pole of the compass is the magnet's north pole, and the end that attracts the south pole of the compass is the magnet's south pole.

To determine the polarity of a magnet without a compass, you can use the "hanging method." Hang the magnet from a string and observe how it aligns itself. The end that points north is the north pole, and the opposite end is the south pole.

A spectroscope, possibly. A magnet is not the correct answer because there are several metallic elements which are magnetic.
Permanent magnet field motors. With a these motors, a permanent magnet is used to replace the field coil. DC power is connected via the brushes, to the armature only. Reversing the polarity, will cause the motor to reverse its direction of rotation. It is very common to use a switch to intentionally reverse to the polarity, to allow reversal of the motor if desired.
The carriages are made of wood and metal. The motor is a series of electro-magnets.
