The tsunami in Japan on March 11, 2011 was triggered by a massive undersea earthquake off the coast of Tohoku. This earthquake, known as the Tohoku earthquake, happened along the fault line where the Pacific Plate subducts beneath the North American Plate, generating the powerful tsunami waves that caused extensive damage along the Japanese coast.
The Boxing Day tsunami in 2004 was particularly devastating because it originated from a massive undersea earthquake, known as a megathrust earthquake, which generated a powerful tsunami. While we have advanced technology for tsunami warning systems, the speed at which this tsunami occurred and the difficulty in predicting the exact scale and impact of such rare events made it challenging to issue timely warnings.
No. It is all related to an earthquake.
Australia became involved in the aftermath of the Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004 as part of international humanitarian efforts to provide aid and assistance to affected countries in the region, including Indonesia and Thailand. The devastation caused by the tsunami prompted Australia to contribute resources, expertise, and funding to support relief and recovery efforts in the affected areas.

No. Tsunamis have happened through all of human history.
It wasn't all that close. The tsunami struck on December 26, 2004, about 8 months before Hurricane Katrina.

About 12,000 people died in India during the 2004 tsunami. A total of over 100,000 people died in the countries that were affected combined.
So far 9,000 people have been proclaimed dead, and 14,000 are missing. :(
it took so long because there were no tsunami centers in the region and it was too late after all even if they did. Also when they got the warning in the pacific ocean they only warned the countries that border it
Mount Everest will never be clear of dead bodies. The reason for this is that nearly all the bodies are up in the Death Zone. A climber would be risking his/her life to try and bring a body back down, that is why they are left where they died.
