They did it 'cuz they honor "Sameness" and don't think ppl should be different. They think if ppl were different, ppl would get left out and be made fun of. (SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!: Later on, you learn the ppl in the community cannot see color because there are lots of DIFFERENT COLORS. They also have Climate Control, which means no weather... The community is just BLAH!!! )Also, the only choice children in the community have is how they spend their "vollunteer hours".PS If you are one of my TAG classmates, I will kill you. ;)
