If you mean "false alarm", there could be an investigation about who called in the fire.
If you mean times between emergency calls at the fire station, there are many other parts of being a firefighter. Bottom line, they spend time making sure they and the equipment are ready for anything, then help with fire prevention and other administrative tasks.
In addition, firefighters are often called to other emergencies that do not necessarily involve "fires", such as assisting medical responders, attending industrial accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and various other types of rescues. They have to be trained, equipped and ready for those as well as fires.
The answer is "hot and cold faucet." A firefighter cannot win in a "house fire" as their goal is to save lives and property, not destroy them.
Fire has to have 3 things to keep burning: Fuel, Heat, Oxygen. Water works by cooling the temperatur and removing the Oxygen.
Yes, friction is helpful for a firefighter sliding down the pole as it provides the necessary resistance to control the speed and prevent the firefighter from falling too quickly. The right amount of friction helps to ensure a safe and controlled descent.
I'm not a firefighter, but an old chemistry saying..... "To find out how two chemicals react, mix them in a beaker and apply heat"I would assume it would be helpful, because if there was a fire and the firefighter realized the fire was moving towards the room with all the propane tanks in it, it's gonna save his life to know that's going to cause a big explosion and also he should get out of there..... Obviously most people know propane will explode from heat, but I'm not a chem major so that was my best example.Another reason is when certain chemicals, especially poisons are burnt, or certain materials (i.e. Old insulation sometimes has anthrax which is a natural occurring poison/substance).... this can aerosolize the poison and it could enter the blood stream through the lungs (i.e. smoking cigarettes as opposed to chewing tobacco)
A prescribed fire is a human(firefighter) started fire. It has a specific area that needs to be burned! These are started to eraticate fuels that are in abundance so that when a wildfire does occur in this area it usually is much easier to deal with! A wildwire is basically any fire out of control either human or naturally started!
To become a firefighter you need special training with real fires and fake mechanical people and buildings. So you can practice before theres a real fire.
www.floridastatefirecollege.org Theres alot of info on that site. That's where i went to become a Firefighter. The Florida State Fire College is the best fire school in the state( hence the Florida State Fire College name :D ) . Theres many other places to go alot of them only teach you to be a firefighter 1 though. Which is only good enough for a volunteer firefighter. You need to be a Firefighter 2 if you want to be a career firefighter. Go to your local fire station. Im sure theres a few guys who went to local Fire Schools and they had to have been in Florida since Florida does not accept other state fire certifications. You will also need to be an EMT. Being a Paramedic wouldn't hurt you in the least. You'll get picked over anybody for a job if your a paramedic.
It depends if you are volunteer or not also the station.
