What is the differe nce between and solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse?

A solar eclipse is when the moon passes between the Sun and the Earth which causes us to see a dark shadow in front of the Sun. A lunar ecplise is when the Earth is between the Sun and the moon. The Earth's shadow causes the moon to look red because of the Sun's color. Keep in mind that you must never look at a solar eclipse directly! Only you can look at a lunar ecplise. Hope this helped!

Why does the lunar eclipse happen at full moon?

A lunar eclipse happens when Earth is exactly between the Moon and the Sun (or more correctly, when viewed from the Sun, the Moon passes behind Earth and through its shadow), like this:(Sun)--------------(Earth)---(Moon)When you look up from Earth at that time, you see the part of the moon that is in full sunlight. We don't see a lunar eclipse every full moon because the Moon's orbit around Earth is slightly tilted,so it passes over or under the Earth's shadow most of the time.

What does a total lunar eclipse look like and how does it differ from other types of lunar eclipses?

During a total lunar eclipse, the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, casting a shadow on the Moon. The Moon appears to turn a reddish color, known as a "blood moon," due to the Earth's atmosphere bending sunlight towards the Moon. This differs from other types of lunar eclipses, such as partial or penumbral eclipses, where only part of the Moon is obscured by the Earth's shadow.
