A theory is something they think is true and a law is something that has be proven to be true
Gathering data, forming a theory, testing the theory to destruction.
Robert Hooke famously had an argument with Isaac Newton over Newton's theory of gravitation. Hooke claimed that Newton's ideas were similar to his own, leading to a dispute between the two scientists.
that obama is the worst prez ever.
If you mean cells that make up living beings, then yes and it's not a theory because it's been proven
It doesn't mean much. The Higgs Boson is only necessary for the Standard Model to be correct; the Standard Model excludes gravity, and String Theory is a theory of quantum gravity. The two are separate from one another.
No, most scientists still believe in it, if that's what you mean.
The Big Bang theory isn't a mystery: the scientists working on it know exactly what they mean by what they say.
it means to develope something
The word "theory" is used differently by scientists than by the general public. The general public means "theory" as a proposed explanation for something which is not proven and which is possibly spurious; scientists may mean "theory" in that way, but may also mean "theory" as a hypothesis that has been tested multiple times and has been validated each time. Also leukocytes which mean white blood cells.
To me 'Versus' means 'against' as in 'Portsmouth versus Manchester United'.

it is latin for versus
The root word of versus, in the original Latin "vertere," means to turn to face something. In English, it doesn't have a root beyond versus.
If you mean social influences yes they are. For many years scientists had to fit what they discovered into Catholicism because the church was trying to exploit religion for money and power. Today scientists pressure each other to agree with a theory because they have based most of their work off the theory. If for instance relativity was found to be false all the people who spent their life working off of it would have all of their work invalidated.
This is kind of a hard question. I don't know. (I'm sorry.) ----------------------------------------------------------------- When they use the word theory, it means they are talking about an idea. For example: the theory of evolution; it's an idea which has been going on for many years and still not fully proven.
