Final volume minus initial volume refers to the difference between the volume at the end of a process or measurement and the volume at the beginning. It indicates the change in volume that occurred between the two points.
If you mean gram/volume, which is density, it is an intensive property.
I'm going to assume you mean a volume of 500cm3. density = mass/volume = 400g/500cm3 = 0.8g/cm3
If, by 'metric system', you mean the 'SI system', then there is no base unit for volume. The unit for volume is called a 'derived unit', and it is the cubic metre (m3).
Singing in unison means singing together or at the same time
I've always understood it to mean singing without vibrato.
"Singing your head off" means that you are singing loudly and enthusiastically, you are really enjoying singing.
