Ozone, O3, is a gas in the upper atmosphere that absorbs UV light. This means less UV light gets to the Earth. UV light causes humans to synthesise Vitamin D, needed for healthy bones and teeth. However, it also causes skin damage- the reason why we tan/burn in sunlight. Less O3 means more intense UV light- known to increase skin cancer and cataract rates in areas where this has happened. With plants, I don't think it has a great effect- they just use pockets of sunlight energy for photosynthesis.
False. Depletion of the ozone layer allows more harmful UV-B rays to reach Earth's surface, which can cause damage to plants and animals. UV-A rays are less harmful than UV-B rays and are not significantly affected by ozone depletion.
Depletion of ozone is caused by CFC's. It is fatal to life.
Carbon cycle has an effect on ozone layer. Carbon emissions cause greenhouse effect which causes ozone depletion.
The effect of ozone layer is same overall. The ozone depletion over one place will affect the UV in that area.
Cataract is a byproduct of ozone depletion. It is caused due to UV rays.
The ozone depletion on humans and plants have a huge impact. UV falls over them and kills them.
Ozone depletion makes UV enter the earth. Plants die on coming in contact with UV rays.
Plants avoid global warming. ANd since global warming causes ozone depletion, thus they prevent ozone depletion.
The depletion of ozone is harmful to plants. The UV can cause their death.
Yes it is. Ozone depletion is caused by pollution.
No, never. Ozone depletion could never have a good effect on natural resources.
The greenhouse effect causes ozone depletion. Greenhouse doesn't let the heat escape, causing problems for ozone.
Yes, it has. Smoke from crackers have an effect on ozone.
The CFC's have greatest effect. They react with ozone to deplete it.
There are important aspects of ozone depletion and greenhouse effect. They are caused by same sources.
