A screen for a window. It keeps bugs and other bad things out and lets air in.
An everyday object that can be compared to the nucleus in a cell is the brain in a human body. Just like the nucleus controls the activities of the cell, the brain controls the functions of the body by sending and receiving signals. Both the nucleus and the brain play a central role in the overall functioning and health of their respective systems.
A cell membrane can be compared to a barrier or protective fence. It regulates the passage of materials in and out of the cell, just like a gatekeeper controls who enters and exits a space. Additionally, it is flexible and dynamically adjusts its shape, much like a stretchy security net.
Many textbooks will compare a cell membrane to the fluid mosaic model, which means that the parts of the membrane (phospholipids, cholesterol, proteins etc.) are not stuck in one place; they move around and can pass by one another while still keeping the integrity of the membrane. That is mainly for the structure, but structure always lends to function.
Cell membrane
the cell membrane
All eukaryotic cells have membrane-covered compartments called vesicles that form when part of the cell membrane envelops an object or substance and then pinches off to transport molecules within the cell or to the cell membrane.
I suppose you could compare the mantle to the cell wall or cell membrane.
Yours skin,

A cell membrane is similar to the object you use as a balloon. It forms the wall around the cell and allows some things to come in and some to go out. It is a boundary.
Vesicles
I had a project like this, I did a cell is like a city and I made the following organelles compared to everyday use from cities: Chloroplasts-Solar Panels Nucleus- Mayor Cell Wall- City Border Cell Membrane- City Gate Nuclear Membrane- Security Guard Cytoplasm- Streets Mitochondria- Powerplant Chromatin/DNA-Blueprints
Eukaryotic cells have membrane-covered compartments that form through a process called endocytosis. This occurs when a portion of the cell membrane surrounds an object, such as a particle or molecule, and pinches off to form a vesicle inside the cell. This vesicle then transports the object into the cell for further processing.
