You are held for three days (72 hours) for a psychological evaluation. At the end, there is a hearing - if you are deemed no longer a danger to yourself or others, you are let go. If you are deemed still a danger to yourself, then you may be held longer.

You may also be prescribed and given drugs for depression as well as antipsychotics if you need them.
