2. Mature Stage: Begins when precipitation reaches the ground. The most intense stage with lightning, hail, and high wind speeds. Strong winds form the cloud into an anvil shape. Updrafts and downdrafts.

3. Dissipating Stage: Downdraft overcomes updraft and cloud dissipates, a cirrus cloud is left behind.
