  1. They can both rise upwards to form a mountain range (Alps for example).
  2. One can slip under the other and cause an earthquake and a route for molten rock to rise to the surface easily. Land plates are normally stronger than the sea plate boundaries.
  3. They can slide side by side (San Francisco), one go left and the other go right. These cause violent earthquakes usually.
