the person would most likely die,or atleast go into a vegitable state. the hindbrain contains the reflex parts of the nervous system. this includes the involuntary muscles which include the cardiac muscles (heart) and the diegestive tract muscles. meaning the heart would beat out of controll or just not at all because it is receving no stimuli to beat from the hindbrain. the spinal cord controls alot of reflexes also so if the hindbrain isint damaged too badly the person would just probobaly go into a vegitable state. but hindbrain damage would be much more serious than frontal or midbrain damage.

When a person suffered a stroke and falls into a sleep-like coma and the damaged is somewhere in the brain stem which structure is most likely damaged?

When a stroke effects the brain stem it effects the whole body locking them in that sleep-like coma state. Blood flow is restricted to the brain and the entire brain is impacted. The person effected will not be able to speak, see, or function below the neck area.

What happens if you have deformed genes?

The code in DNA will will cause you to have loss of limbs , or become brain damaged .

How Can stem cells repair a damaged heart?

Stem cells can repair a damaged heart by turning into new cardiac cells to replace the damaged tissue.

What happens to the brain stem when being strangled?

When strangled, the brain stem can be adversely affected due to a lack of oxygen (hypoxia) and blood flow (ischemia). The brain stem controls vital functions such as respiration, heart rate, and consciousness; therefore, strangulation can lead to loss of these functions, resulting in unconsciousness or death if the pressure is not relieved quickly. Prolonged strangulation can cause permanent brain damage or fatal outcomes due to the critical role the brain stem plays in maintaining life.

Use brainstem in a sentence?

The man's brain stem was damaged in the fall and, unfortunately, the doctor's told him, he would never function the same again. The best way to kill a zombie is to sever the brain stem. The brain stem is found at the base of the brain and links together the spinal cord and the main cortex.

Stroke damage is always somewhere in the brain. However, you cannot say that every person who has had a stroke and is in a coma has had the stroke in the same part of the brain. Strokes can affect just about any area of the brain.

What connects to the cerebrum and the spinal cord?

The spinal cord is attached to the brain stem located at the base of the brain. This stem is connected to the cerebellum.

What is the stem cell technology?

A stem cell is a type of cell that doesn't have a specific function. The cells you normally think about make up parts of the body like the muscles (e.g., heart), brain, nerves, etc. Stem cells have the ability to divide into these cells with a function and replace damaged ones. They can also divide into more stem cells. The exploration and use of stem cells to replace damaged parts of the body is called stem cell research or technology.

Why sciencist are interested in stem cells?

a stem cell is the basic undifferentiated cell, meaning that it has the capability to become any cell in the body. scientists are interested by them because they can replace damaged cells, the most interesting use is to replace damaged nerve or brain tissue since those tissues do not repair themselves on their own and nerve cells don't divide. the potential for stem cell technology includes healing paralysis and brain damage.
