Measure out any volume of water in a pre-weighed beaker (or container...sigh*). Then bake the beaker in a warm oven until all the water evaporates and the beaker is dry. Reweigh the beaker . Subtract the original weight of the empty beaker from the new weight. You now have the weight of the salt present in your original amount of water ! NOTE: If you are using ocean water this may be imprecise due to other contaminants remaining in the beaker. AKA you are not JUST weighing salt at the end.
