sharks, goldfish, cockroach spider rat mospuito and hampster. a dorsal nerve cord is your spinal cord
Another name for dorsal is posterior.
The two subdivisions of the dorsal region are the dorsal fin and the dorsal surface. The dorsal fin is a prominent feature found on the backs of many aquatic animals, such as fish and whales, providing stability and aiding in swimming. The dorsal surface refers to the upper side or back of an organism, which can be important for various functions, including protection and thermoregulation.
Dorsal is the back and ventral is anterior
The dorsal area refers to the back side of an organism, typically the region along the spine. In humans, the dorsal area includes the back from the neck to the tailbone.
Dorsal root ganglia contain cell bodies of sensory neurons, which are larger and more complex structures compared to the dorsal root that mainly consists of nerve fibers. The ganglia need more space to accommodate the cell bodies and additional structures like satellite cells and glial cells, leading to their larger diameter compared to the dorsal root.
A goldfish's dorsal fin may be down due to stress, illness, poor water quality, or injury. It is important to monitor your goldfish's behavior and environment to determine the cause and address any issues promptly.
A goldfish has about 1,500 bones inside of it.
Well Lionhead goldfish are unique in that they have a raspberry-like growth surrounding their head called a 'wen", and they also have no dorsal fin.
Blotches on the dorsal fin and tail fin(s) can be the diseases fin and tail rot, easily cured with medication.
The commonest cause of fin nipping in Goldfish is insufficient food and/or poor diet. Fish should be fed a good quality goldfish food morning and evening as much as they can eat in 15 minutes.
Yes, but normally they grow back slowly. However, if fin rot has reached the base of the fin, then the goldfish would be in pain the rest of its life.
Some goldfish, especially large ranchu/lionhead goldfish who are lacking a dorsal fin, may lean slightly to the left when they are sleeping. This is normal behavior and shouldn't be of concern unless the fish is exhibiting signs of illness or is acting lethargic.
Goldfish have key spots on their body, such as the dorsal fin, caudal fin, and anal fin. These spots contribute to their overall appearance by adding color and pattern to their scales, making them visually appealing.
Goldfish have 1 dorsal fin, 1 caudal fin, 1 anal fin, 2 pectoral fins and 2 ventral (pelvic) fins. They do not have a spiny Dorsal or an adipose fin so that makes them a 7 finned species. Breeders have devloped goldfish with different types of split Caudal (tail) fin but they are still single fins. These "sports" are commonly called Veiltailed, or Fantailed fish. (There are many other names of "goldfish sports" too). To the best of my knowledge they do not however have 8 fins. They have seven fins but the tail has been modified by selective breeding to look like more than one fin. (Breeders have also developed a type that has no dorsal fin which makes it a 6 finned fish).
Well to start, the goldfish has two eyes, two nostrils, two gill covers, and a mouth. Then comes the two major parts- the head and abdomen. And lastly their are the fins: the pectorals, the pelvic fins, the caudle fin(s), the anal fins, and the dorsal fin.
Fancy goldfish need at minimum 20 gallons for one fish, plus 10 gallons for each additional goldfish you are adding (thus 30 gallons for 2 goldfish); so the answer to your question is dependant on the size of your tank.
The most popular breeds of hamsters are dwarfs, Chinese, and Teddy Bear (Syrian)/Golden) hamsters. I wouldn't be able to tell what breed of hamster you have without seeing it. But I can give a description of each one. There are many types of dwarf hamsters including the Campbell's Dwarf Hamster, Russian Dwarf Hamster and Roborovski Hamster. They are the smallest of the hamsters with the Robo(rovski) measuring just 2 inches when fully grown, their colors range from white to dark gray and often have a darker dorsal stripe. The Chinese hamster compared to other hamsters has a longer tail (around 2cm) and a thinner longer body, their natural coat is browny grey with a dorsal stripe but other color variations are available. Finally the Syrian hamster is much bigger than Chinese and Dwarves and their coat is commonly a 'golden' brown. They can grow to around 7 inches when fully mature. The picture above is of a Syrian hamster.
