Studies have shown that humans, when subjected to an environment with no light(such as a cave) and have no way to tell time, will revert to a twenty-five hour day schedule. This would throw off the calendar as humans consistantly added an hour to their days.

However, if humans retained clocks and other timekeeping resources, time could be kept properly. Even if no clocks were available, as long as the moon and stars could be seen, time could be kept relatively well and the lunar calendar could be kept.(For example if we lived on a planet where one side was constantly facing away from the sun.)
