Fault location in a transmission line refers to identifying the specific location where a fault has occurred, such as a short circuit or a ground fault. This process involves using various methods such as distance protection relays, traveling wave analysis, and fault passage indicators to pinpoint the fault location accurately. It is crucial to quickly isolate the faulted section and restore power to the rest of the transmission system to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.

The West Valley Fault, also known as the Marikina Valley Fault Line, runs through Taguig City. It is a major fault line in the Philippines that spans from Bulacan to Laguna, passing through various cities, including Taguig, in the Greater Manila Area. Specific mapping details of the fault line within Taguig City can be obtained from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Some provinces near the fault line in the Philippines include Batangas, Cavite, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga. These provinces are located along the West Valley Fault, which is one of the major fault lines in the country.
The San Andreas Fault is the major fault line that separates the North American Plate from the Pacific Plate in California. This fault line is known for its seismic activity and has been the source of significant earthquakes in the past.
is there any fault line in toledo city
these are the faults that occur in transmission line: 1. line to line fault 2. line to ground fault-this is the most common fault that occurs in tr. line(75%) 3. double line to ground fault 4. triple line to ground (or) 3 phase fault- this is the most serious and dangerous fault that occurs in transmission line.(but rarely occurs)
The distance relay trips when a fault occurs at a distant or a remote place in the electric transmission line. There is a mechanism based on the impedance calculation of the distance of the transmission line after which it is accurately known where the fault has taken place. Thus the distance protective relay can trip the circuit & prevent the fault to be carried further and also can indicate the location of the fault.
The three types are Line to ground faults line to line fault double line to ground fault three phase line to ground fault

On a fault line. For example, California is on the San Andreas fault, and as such is very earthquake prone.
A symmetrical fault is a fault where all three phases are experiencing the same thing. This is also called a three phase fault, since all three phases are involved.
the fault in electrical transmission line which give rise to symmetrical fault current is called symmetric fault. e.g; L-L-L-G fault. the fault in transmission line which give rise to unsymmetrical fault current is called unsymmetrical fault.e.g; L-L , L-L-G , L-G fault to solve the unsymmetrical fault, the fault current can be represented by sum of the sequences--zero phase sequence , +ve phase sequence , -ve phase sequence. where L:line G:ground
generally faults are of symmentrical and unsymmentrical faults that occur in majorly occurs in transmission lines........ the fault in electrical transmission line which give rise to symmetrical fault current is called symmetric fault. e.g; L-L-L-G fault. if they are in low values then system is said to be "protected" .... In order to avoid those NEUTRAL SHOULD GROUND with resistor or reactor etc,,,,,,,,...........
Actually in networks we will consider the elements like resistance, inductance, capacitance as lumped elements for simplicity, like this in power systems we will consider the transmission line parameters(resistance, inductance, capacitance) as lumped elements, because we will calculate all the parameters of power systems with respect to receiving end or sending end but not with respect to middle of the line. If a fault occurs on transmission line then we should not consider the lumped elements of that total transmission line, we should consider the lumped elements from sending end to the point where the fault is occurred.
That sounds like you are looking for the word "fault" or "fault line".
The fault that caused the 1995 Kobe earthquake was the Nojima fault.
The Denali Fault line is located in Alaska.
