As the furthest planet from the sun, Neptune gets very little sunlight. The average surface temperature is around −218°C (55.1K / -360.4°F), making it an extremely freezing planet.

However, it has an extremely hot, radioactive core composed of molten ammonia and molten rocks.

Neptune has some extremely high wind speeds, in fact, the fastest winds in the solar system so far, with winds travelling up to 1,200 miles per hour.

The internal heat and the coldness of the space surrounding the planet are believed to be causing the winds.

Because of these high winds, there are always plenty of storms on the planet.
