Drusy quartz is the name given to layer, or druse, of very small crystals. They can be around 1 mm in size or so, and make for a sparkly and attractive gem, especially when colored blue by growing on chrysocolla. Technology has noticed the popularity of drusy, and it is now available dyed and coated in all shades. Uvarovite is another popular drusy mineral, flat plates of tiny bright green crystals come from Russia.
