Where is garnet geographically found?
"Garnet" is actually the name of a group of silicate minerals,
which can be found around the world, as spectacular crystals, gem
rough, or massive deposits mined for industrial abrasives. Garnets
are found in literally every color, and entire books have been
written on them.
The garnet group includes almandine, andradite, calderite,
goldmanite, grossular, hibschite, katoite, kimzeyite, knorringite,
majorite, morimotoite, pyrope, schorlomite, spessartine, and
uvarovite.
Of these, the most common are almandine, andradite, grossular,
pyrope, spessartine, and uvarovite. Hundreds of localities are
known.
