Conduction is when heat is transferred through a material by passing thermal energy from molecule to molecule (from collisions). An example is when you heat up one end of a pan and the handle gets hot a little later.
Convection is when, as they say, heat rises. This applies to liquids and gases because their molecules are mobile. The hot molecules still stay hot, same with the cold ones, but they rearrange themselves so heat flows. One example is, as said before, hot air rises and cold air sinks.
Finally, radiation is a transfer of energy via electromagnetic radiation (light waves). This is how the sun heats stuff on the Earth.
Conduction, Convection, Radiation
For conduction and convection we need a material medium. But for radiation such a meaterial medium is not necessary. So in free space radiation can pass through easily.
The three main methods of energy transfer are conduction, convection, and radiation. Conduction is the transfer of heat through direct contact of particles, convection involves the movement of fluids to transfer heat, and radiation is the transfer of energy through electromagnetic waves.
More energy reaches us through radiation. Conduction transfers heat through molecules touching each other, which is less efficient over long distances compared to the electromagnetic radiation that carries heat energy from the sun to Earth through the vacuum of space.
Conduction and convection badly needs material medium but radiation does not need a material medium as an essential one. It could traverse even in free space in the form of electromagnetic waves
The sun moves through the electromagnetic waves. Conduction and Convection transfers energy between differences in density.

Insulation is not a method of heat transfer, but rather a way to slow down the transfer of heat between objects by using materials that have low thermal conductivity. Heat transfer occurs through conduction, convection, and radiation, where heat moves from a warmer object to a cooler one.
A hair dryer primarily uses convection to transfer heat to the air, as the hot air moves over your hair to speed up the drying process. However, there is also some conduction happening between the air and your hair when they come into direct contact.
Conduction, convection ,radiations are three methods of heat transfer. Conduction is carried out by direct contact with materials covection & radiation are carried out without any contact with the material
Radiation and conduction are alike in the fact that they both transfer energy.
