The Scientific name for a hedge bush plant is dependent on the species of plant. Some of the scientific names of plants uses for hedges are, Abelia x grandiflora, Buxus selections and Ilex crenata.
Hedge roots typically extend to a depth of 1 to 3 feet, depending on the species and soil conditions. However, some hedge plants may develop deeper roots in search of moisture and nutrients, particularly in well-drained soils. In general, the root system tends to be relatively shallow but can spread widely to support the plant.
Naive hedging is where taking a hedge position without taking into consideration the level of hedging required. The optimal hedging position should be such that the expected position from the hedge perfectly offset the underlying risk. Naive hedging (over hedging) could potentially lead to a substantial gain or loss position from hedging.
Mangroves act as a natural barrier that helps reduce the impacts of coastal hazards such as storms, tsunamis, and erosion. Their dense root systems help stabilize shorelines, reduce wave energy, and provide a buffer against flooding, protecting coastal communities and infrastructure. Additionally, mangroves can absorb and store large amounts of carbon dioxide, helping mitigate climate change impacts.

I have seen hedges around inground swimmingpools. The hedges would have to be the same height as a fence should be, which is 48inches. The problem would be with access. A fence has to have a self closing latchable gate...what does the Hedge row have? Not sure about the water...If someone had to enter the water to gain access to the property then it should be acceptable barrier, but that will depend on standards of insurance companty and BOCA
It is important to select the right material for your privacy fence to make sure the fence suits your needs. When you select a fence material, think about what you want to accomplish with the fence. If you want to keep others out, you may want to use a wooden fence. If you want privacy with low maintenance, you may want to choose vinyl. If you would rather have privacy without a hard barrier, you may want to choose a hedge.
