Finger picking is a guitar playing technique where the musician uses their fingers to pluck the strings instead of a pick. This method allows for greater control and expression, enabling the player to create intricate melodies and harmonies. It is commonly used in various genres, including folk, classical, and blues, and can produce a rich, textured sound. Finger picking often involves alternating bass notes with melody lines, creating a full and resonant musical experience.

Okay, so I'm not trying to demoralize you; although I have personally found finger picking much more difficult than other techniques. There are a few things you can do which are very generic but THEY WORK! Take a song, any Dire Straits or Tommy Emmanuel song for that matter, and isolate small sections and work on them on a slow tempo. Do this for a whole verse and finally try playing them together. Practice bro, as much as you can if you want to master finger picking and check out some of the Tommy Emmanuel stuff. The bloke has a crazy finger picking technique.
The fundamentals of guitar shredding are fretting speed and picking techniques. Fretting speed takes a lot of finger strength so it is recommended to exercise and strengthen your fingers. Picking techniques include alternate picking, tremolo picking, sweep picking, and economy picking. There are useful basic guitar shredding guides available online at the All Guitar Chords web site.
Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead had his middle finger of his left hand (he was right handed) chopped off at the second knuckle by his brother Tiff while chopping wood in Northern California when he was 9 years old. He would later say that he used his knub to hold his pick allowing him to switch from picking to finger-picking quickly.
Yes. You can also get a Rockband Bass Guitar, but the only difference is the appearance and that the picking area is split in two to emulate finger picking. This can also be used as a guitar.
Finger foods are meant to be eaten one at a time, so the food that you are eating should not have generally been touched by others. Often it is a great idea to have toothpicks for picking up the finger foods so that they are not touched by people.
