Hello there!

Firstly, a haploid means having a half set of chromosomes.

In the case of humans, we are diploid organisms since we receive half the chromosome set from the mother and the other half from the father. Therefore we have 23 pairs of chromosomes.

So, when a haploid sperm and a haploid egg fuse together, you get a diploid zygote. That's pretty much how we are made and the same goes for most animals.

Hope this answered your question 😄

Reproductive cells are called zygotes true or false?

What does it mean when you say 'The sperm and egg are Hapliod cells'?

Is sperm haploid or diploid?

Sperm is haploid, meaning it contains half the number of chromosomes as a normal body cell. This allows the sperm to combine with an egg during fertilization, resulting in a diploid zygote with a complete set of chromosomes.
