All things being equal and moisture content aside, oak is a pretty dense wood. Generally speaking, more dense woods burn more slowly.
Ponderosa pine, whitebark pine, red oak, white oak, sugar maple, white pine, blue spruce, Englemann spruce, birch, quaking aspen, green ash, cottonwood, sequoia, Norway spruce, weeping willow, ash, elm, alpine larch, subalpine fir, locust, etc, etc.
The densities are Ice (at 0 °C): 916,7 kg/m³ Butter: 911 kg/m³ Oak: 750 kg/m³ So even though ice is less dense than water, it is still more dense than butter or oak. The density of ice increases slightly when the temperature drops.
