The only way a metamorphic rock can become a sedimentary rock is if it is eroded and the pieces settle in a body of water and eventually become sedimentary rock. A whole piece of metamorphic rock is never going to become , by itself, a piece of sedimentary rock.
It will probably make some sort of sedimentary rock, because if the eroded sediments were put under enough pressure they might eventually meld together. Be careful though because there are different kinds of sedimentary rock. You wouldn't be able to tell which type of rock it formed unless you knew the type of rock eroded and the conditions they eroded in (is it a tropical area, arctic are, polar area, etc), it would also depend on how deep the rocks got buried and ho quickly. The material eroded from the Grand Canyon was deposited on a plain. Over many years, water eroded the plain creating a canyon later known as the Grand Canyon. The water kept weathering down the rocks until it came down to a lower level way below the top of the Grand Canyon. That is why today we have a higher and lower part of the Grand Canyon. Overall, the Grand Canyon started out as a plain and as many years passed water weathered down the rocks.

After many years, as rocks are eroded, gases trapped in them will be released into the atmosphere so in a way rocks are "storage rooms" for gases just as our Earth is.
