The results I see are based on 1990's data, and do not include the bromine that volcano's also release (whcih also effects the ozone). What chlorine is present in the stratosphere is 3% volcano sourced, 15% methyl chloride (refrigerant 40 or R-40, CH3Cl, also used as a blowing agent) (they did not identify the source, but it does also come from natural sources including plants), and 82% manmade refrigerants, primarily CFCs. See link below for more on methyl chloride / aka. chloromethane. The total chlorine released by volcanos is in a form that is easily scrubbed from the air, so very little of what is released, ends up in the stratosphere. The same is likely true for the bromine they release.

Are volcanoes causing ozone layer depletion?

Volcanoes cause ozone depletion but very less. They release chlorine which can deplete small amount of ozone.

The amount of energy released when one mole of chloride ions is produced from one mole of chlorine atoms is the?

The amount of energy released when one mole of chloride ions is produced from one mole of chlorine atoms is the electron affinity of chlorine. This is the energy change that occurs when an electron is added to a chlorine atom to form a chloride ion.

How many liters of HCl are produced by the reaction of 5.7 L of hydrogen with an equal amount of chlorine H2 g Cl2 g -- 2 HCl g?

Since the reaction ratio is 1:1 for hydrogen and chlorine, the amount of HCl produced will be the same as the amount of hydrogen used, which is 5.7 L. So, 5.7 liters of HCl are produced in the reaction.

Chlorine in the stratosphere is believed to primarily from CFC rather natural sources such as volcanoes because?

It is because the amount of chlorine emitted from natural resources is very less as compared to ones released from artificial products. The CFC's contain most of the chlorine which is responible for the depletion of ozone.

How many volcanoes can erupt at once?

What is total residual chlorine?

Total Residual Chlorine (TRC) is the total of free available residual chlorine and combined (bound) residual chlorine. The amount of measurable chlorine remaining after treating water with chlorine i.e. amount of chlorine left in water after the chlorine demand has been satisfied

Will chlorine kill bacteria produced by bird droppings in swimming pool?

Chlorine in pools is designed to take care of a normal amount of bird droppings. If you have a higher level of bird droppings than normal in your pool, you need to raise your chlorine level and backwash your filter every couple of days.

What is meant by available chlorine in bleaching powder?

Usually it relates to hypochlorites content in the product. Available chlorine is the quantity of chlorine that can hypothetically be produced by reaction of bleaching powder with hydrochloric acid. Greater the available chlorine is - greater oxidation ability the bleaching powder has. For example, available chlorine 5% means that fixed amount of something can be oxidized by (100/5)X=20X grams of bleaching powder and the same can be done with only X grams of pure chlorine.

Which type of water contains the lowest amount of chlorine?
