It really depends on which part of Washington state you are in. Western, Northwestern is wet. In the movie Sleepless In Seattle, they talk about the 9 months of rain Seattle gets per year. They weren't lying, it really is that wet. As you move toward the central part of the state and over into eastern Washington it begins to dry out. Spokane has hot dry summers and cold snowy winters. But it is so beautiful in spring. Eastern Washington is a big agricultural area (Washington state apples) and when all the trees are in bloom it's almost surreal.
