A change in volume is a change in volume - there is no difference.

The question, as asked, is therefore meaningless.

However if you try to compress air, its volume will decrease (because the gaseous state of matter is compressible). On the other and if you try and compress a liquid the volume will not change as the liquid state of matter is incompressible (that is why/how hydraulic machines work).

What is matter and volume?

Matter is liquid, solid or gases. -liquid can be chemical or water. -solid can be stone, glass or plastic or whatever which is not liquid and gaseous -gas is commonly said as air Volume is h x b x l.

What happens when liquid co2 is exposed to air?

When liquid CO2 is exposed to air, it quickly evaporates and turns into gaseous CO2. This process is known as sublimation. The gaseous CO2 will mix with the air in its surroundings.

What phase change when air freshener is sprayed its container?

The phase change that occurs when air freshener is sprayed is from liquid to gas. The air freshener is in liquid form inside the container, but when it is sprayed, it is released into the air as a gas or aerosol.

Is evaporation a change between which two states of matter?

Evaporation is a change from liquid water to a water vapour.

Is air is liquid or solid or vapor?

Air is in the gaseous state. So vapour is the closest answer.

How does volume change during evaporation?

During evaporation, molecules escape the liquid surface into the air as gas. This conversion from liquid to gas reduces the volume of the liquid as it evaporates. However, the total volume of the system remains constant since the gas molecules occupy the space above the liquid.

What is gaseous form of water called?

The gaseous form of water is called water vapor. It is formed when liquid water evaporates into the air.

Why is gaseous fuel much more flammable than liquid fuel?

Gaseous fuel is more flammable than liquid fuel because it has a higher surface area to volume ratio, allowing it to mix more easily with oxygen in the air. This leads to quicker combustion and a higher likelihood of ignition. Additionally, gaseous fuels often have lower flash points compared to liquid fuels, making them ignite more readily at lower temperatures.

What is the change in state during the formation of clouds?

During the formation of clouds, water vapor in the air condenses into liquid water droplets or ice crystals. This change is from a gas state (water vapor) to a liquid or solid state (liquid water droplets or ice crystals), which is known as condensation.

The changing of gaseous water vapor in the air to liquid water?

The changing of gaseous water vapor in the air to liquid water is called condensation. If it does so high up in the atmosphere and falls as droplets to the ground we call that "rain" - but it has to undergo condensation first.

When liquids change to gas they?

undergo evaporation, during which the molecules gain enough energy to break free from the liquid phase and enter the gaseous state. This process occurs at the surface of the liquid, as molecules escape into the air as vapor.

What is the process that takes water from gaseous form to a liquid form?

The process that takes water from gaseous form to liquid form is called condensation. This happens when water vapor in the air cools down and turns back into liquid water droplets.
