Crackle nail polish contains solvents that react with the top layer of nail polish. When applied on a nail varnish surface, the solvents dry quickly, creating a cracked texture as they shrink. This effect is specifically designed to work with the composition of nail polish and may not produce the same results on other surfaces.
Doesn't the amount of varnish in the paint make the difference?

Desert varnish is not poisonous. It is simply a dark, shiny coating that forms on rock surfaces in arid environments over time due to the presence of minerals and bacteria. There is no evidence to suggest that desert varnish poses any health hazards.

Nail polish remover is actually made up of organic solvent and added scents. Furniture varnish is composed of a hardening oil, which is soluble in the solvents used in nail polish remover. So the mark you've made is actually a place where you've removed the varnish, so the only way to fix it is to find a matching varnish and re-varnish the patch.
