This coincides with crying when sad, as well. I am not a psychologist, however it is widely known that those who bottle up their powerful feelings develop emotional and psychological problems if the action persists. Those who release their stress however can recover from their problems much faster. Therefore, those who release their problems are able to cope with their trauma. Our ancestors may have evolved the act of crying because the advantages of releasing their stressful emotions through the act of crying may have somehow allowed them to live and find mates better than those who could not release it in such a way. Of course, this is a complete guess as I am not an expert in the matter and do not claim to be.
Crying when you are happy is a way for your body to release built-up emotions. It’s a natural response to overwhelming feelings of joy, gratitude, or relief. Crying can help regulate and process intense emotions, even when they are positive.
There is no direct evolutionary advantage to having blue eyes or blonde hair. These physical traits are the result of genetic variations that occurred over time due to random mutations. These traits do not confer a specific advantage for survival or reproduction in humans.
Laughing and crying are both natural emotional responses to different stimuli. When we are happy, laughter can be a way to express joy, humor, or relief. On the other hand, crying when sad can be a release of built-up emotions and a way to cope with pain or sorrow. These reactions are influenced by our brain's response to various situations and emotions.
Imagine if you have two different bacteria. They are just hanging out, doing what they do, enjoying their nice, nutrient rich environment. They get to divide over and over...life is good. Then the nutrients start to dry up, all of a sudden there is no more food! The bacteria that cannot produce endospores shrivel up and they, and all of their offspring die! The bacteria capable of that final internal division and capable of using its internal goo to use as an iron clad capsule to protect its genetic material can then go metabolically dormant for...ever. When the environment improves it can resume its happy division. 2 bacteria enter...one bacteria leaves! There is your evolutionary advantage.
