Seatbelts are designed to reduce the possibilty of injury or death. In the event that there is an accident, they are supposed to restrain the person wearing them. A properly restrained person wont collide with the interior parts of the car that would injure them. This is not to say that the injuries wont happen at all though. When there is a car accident there are three collisions: 1. The car hits something, 2. The occupants hit things in the car, 3. The occupants organs like brain, liver, heart, lungs etc. collide with interior body structures.

An interesting after effect is that an insurance company can reduce the amount that they will pay for any injuries that occur if the person that is injured is not wearing a seat belt.

How can you build a car out of household items?

Building a working car solely from household items would be extremely challenging due to the complexity of a car's mechanics and safety requirements. However, you could create a basic model using materials like cardboard, paper rolls, bottle caps, and rubber bands for aesthetic purposes. For a more functional approach, you could attempt to build a rudimentary toy car using wheels from old toys, a cardboard chassis, and rubber bands for propulsion, but it would not be drivable.
