Tectonic Plate movement
By definitiona an aftershock is always smaller than the larger earthquake that preceeded it. If an earthquake then occurs that is of larger magnitude and related to the prior seismic activity it is redesignated as the mainshock and all pre-recording quakes are re-designated as foreshocks.
I heard that lightning is a common cause of forest fires.
First of all,Fire started when lightning struck(:dat is all people
The smaller shake that follows the main earthquake is called an aftershock. Aftershocks can occur minutes, hours, or even days after the initial earthquake and are caused by the adjustment of the Earth's crust to the stress changes generated by the main earthquake.
The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake resulted in thousands of aftershocks. Some sources estimate there were over 50,000 aftershocks following the main earthquake, with magnitudes ranging from 4.0 to 7.3.

the main cause od death seems to be 'death by buildings' and not by the actual earthquakes them self because the earthquake shakes the buildings and if the builds are not earthquake, they fall down and kill nearly everyone underneath it.
There are several things that may indicate an upcoming earthquake. Swarms, seismic activity, small tremors are the main indicators.
Our Tectonic plates shifting and moving around.
The main causes include:capsizing;fire;weather conditions;negligence.
The earthquake may have damaged or ruptured a gas main, this needs to be made safe quickly, as there is a danger of explosion and/or fire.
Find a way to like the activity.

Vehicles , burning things especially plastics these are the main reasons
It depends! Depending upon the built-in energy at the epicenter before and after the earthquake (main shock), and/or the energy (especially stored at some weaker places) generated after the earthquake, aftershocks of an earthquake range in their time. For more details, refer: http://www.answers.com/library/Wikipedia-cid-1349 Aftershock
yep.
a small earthquake that follows the main earthquake
