Volcanoes existed on the earth before we did. They helped build the planet. There is a very good chance, seeing as Yellowstone is a super volcano, that it's been here almost as long as the earth has but, there is also the chance it has been forming over millions and millons of years increasing in size (and still doing so) due to tectonic movement. No one can be to sure.It's like asking 'where does space end?'...no one can know for certain, only guess.
