Appendix
The appendix is the extra piece attached to the large intestine that serves no discernible purpose and can be removed without causing harm to the body.
The rectum is at the end of the large intestine; just inside the anus.
Horse and sheep have a large intestine that serves as a site for fermentation as well as absorption of water and electrolytes. Dogs and cats have a shorter and simpler large intestine compared to horses and sheep.
The appendix is located in the lower right side of the abdomen, attached to the colon. It is a small, finger-shaped pouch that has no known function in the body. If it becomes inflamed, it can lead to a condition called appendicitis, which may require surgical removal.
Materials enter the large intestine through the ileocecal valve, which is located between the small intestine and the large intestine. It helps regulate the flow of material from the small intestine into the large intestine.

The cecum is located in the first part of the large intestine. This serves as a connection between the ileum to the ascending colon and a part of the intestine that moves the waste to be excreted.
What is located in the large intestine?
In frogs, the cloaca is located posterior to the large intestine and anterior to the anus. It serves as a common chamber for the excretory, reproductive, and digestive systems, collecting waste products from the large intestine before they are expelled through the anus.
The purpose of the large intestine is to absorb water from the undigested food back into the blood.
The cecum is the widest division of the large intestine. It is located at the beginning of the large intestine, where the small intestine meets the large intestine.
Villi are located in the small intestine, specifically in the lining of the intestinal walls. They increase the surface area of the intestine, allowing for better absorption of nutrients from digested food into the bloodstream.
The sphincter muscle, or ileocecal valve is located at the junction of the small and large intestine.
The large intestine is located in the lower abdomen.
The rectum is at the end of the large intestine; just inside the anus.
