Depending on the known moons, including Pluto, there are 170 moons in our solar system that scientists have confirmed and observed.
The total number of moons owned by the terrestrial planets is three, and that's a stretch, as one of Mar's moons is almost certainly a captured asteroid. The gas planets have scores of moons among them, mostly because they are much larger, hence have much greater gravity, and attract more moons among them.
The inner planets of our solar system have few or no moons. Mercury and Venus have none, Earth has one, and Mars has two.
Mercury and Venus have no moons. The rest do have moons in various quantities. The inner planets have 3 moons while the outer planets have maybe about 100 in total.
The inner planets closest to the sun are called rocky or terrestrial: Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars for a total of four.
Jupiter has the most moons among the Jovian planets, with a total of 79 known moons to date.

There are a total of 214 moons orbiting planets in our solar system.
the inner plants have a total of three moons. our moon, and two moons of mars. Phobos, and Deimos. but the out planets have many more moons. Neptune has the least amount of moons out of all the outer planets. it has 13 moons. but, the other outer planets have way more. Jupiter even has 63. of course, there are probably many more moons still to be discovered. well, not for earth and mars. in total, the outer planets must have at least 100 moons.

Here is a list of planets from Sol (the sun) out. The number of known moons is listed next to each one, with the total below.Mercury [0]Venus [0]Earth [1]Mars [2]Ceres [0]Jupiter [66]Saturn [62]Uranus [27]Neptune [13]Orcus [1]Pluto - Charon [2]Haumea [2]Quaoar [1]Makemake [0]2007 OR10 [0]Eris [1]Sedna [0]Total: 178 known moons

Astronomer have found many of the major moons of the outer planets, which are Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Neptune. However, they have not found all the possible moons associated with each of these planets. For example Jupiter has 50 known moons, and Saturn has 53 moons that are known so far.
The total was 146 last time I checked. However there are "provisional moons" that will probably become "official" moons eventually.
Jupiter has the most moons among the Jovian planets, with a total of 79 known moons to date.
Moons do not orbit the Milky Way because they Milky Way is a galaxy. But if you are thinking about the amount of moons in the Milky Way total, it is around 1-2million. Probably even more.
Mercury and Venus have no moons, but Earth and Mars do. In total, 3. Earth has 1 and Mars has 2.
