Basically the peripheral nervous system (PNS) consists of all nerves and ganglia which are not in the central nervous system (CNS) which consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The PNS can be divided in to the autonomic nervous system (ANS) which controls involuntary functions such as heart rate and the production of saliva and the somatic nervous system.
ANS can be further divided in to two categories called the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS). SNS and PNS are integral in the homeostatic regulation of the bodies functions.
The somatic nervous system is associated with the bodies voluntary movements such as those of the skeletal muscles, ie the act of you picking up a pen. It is also associated with receiving external stimuli ie hearing, sight and touch.
The peripheral nervous system is made up of all the nerves outside the central nervous system.
The peripheral nervous system is the portion of the nervous system away from the central nervous system. It consists of nerves that connect the central nervous system to the rest of the body, including sensory and motor neurons. The peripheral nervous system is responsible for transmitting information to and from the central nervous system.
The somatic nervous system is a component of the peripheral nervous system. This system is responsible for voluntary movements and sensory information.
i think they belong to the peripheral nervous system (pns)
The sensory division of the peripheral nervous system transmits impulses from sense organs to the central nervous system. The motor division transmits impulses from the central nervous system to the muscles or glands.

The Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous system
The peripheral nervous system is the portion of the nervous system away from the central nervous system. It consists of nerves that connect the central nervous system to the rest of the body, including sensory and motor neurons. The peripheral nervous system is responsible for transmitting information to and from the central nervous system.
The nervous system takes in sensory information from the peripheral nervous system. This information is then directed to the central nervous system which then responds with a motor reaction that travels back to the peripheral nervous system.
The peripheral nervous system is divided into motor and sensory systems. The peripheral nervous system is also divided into the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system.
